2020 Holden Commodore spied, seems equipped for the official debut

Last month, you have seen the leaked images of 2020 ZB Holden Commodore’s mid-life refresh surfaced on the internet by the carmaker’s Chinese counterpart, Buick. And now, the facelifted Opel Insignia sold as Holden Commodore in the country, has been spied while road-testing. In the spy shots, the model is seen with very minimal camouflage at the upfront. So, let’s observe the Holden Commodore specs revealed from the spied photographs.

This is the first time when we can see the design of the new Commodore headlights. The model incorporates new daytime running lights, which will better correspond with the new Opel Corsa designing, i.e., the first all-new model of the firm since its acquisition by PSA Group. Not only this, the model gets a new grille and redesigned bumper. The front also flaunts modified side vents and revised central air intake.

At the rear, the trapezoidal exhaust tips can be seen as a significant change. There are two wide exhaust tips present on either side that helps in providing a sportier rear look to the vehicle. As far as the cabin changes are concerned, nothing is disclosed by the carmaker but we can expect minor tweaks to the car’ infotainment system and some extra equipment.

The engine and other mechanical details of the car are not confirmed yet. However, it is likely to come equipped with the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel mill, producing 260 PS of power. A mighty 3.6-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine can also be added, but that may not be coming to Australia. The model is still based on the General Motors platform.
