It is available in three engine options, including the 2.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel, and V6 petrol engines. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel are offered with FWD, while the all-wheel-drive is available with the V6. Every Commodore features a seven-speaker premium sound system, colour touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for audio streaming, AM-FM radio receiver, voice control, and USB input. It supports Apple Carplay & Android Auto connectivity to sync your phone’s music, maps, and other functions. Loaded with safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Dusk-sensing headlights, LED daytime running lights, reversing camera, a self-parking system, and the advanced driver assistance features including lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert, the Commodore is undoubtedly a safe ride. Holden Commodore Review 2024
Commodore is a sedan build by Holden that has been offering luxurious and comfortable rides to all its passengers for generations. And now, for the first time ever, one can even choose to drive between Front Wheel Drive system or an Adaptive All-Wheel Drive. The newest range is categorized as Liftback Luxury (LT, Calais, Calais-V), Liftback Sport (RS, RS-V, VXR) and Sportwagon (LT, RS, RS-V).
Talking about styling, Commodore has a stunning exterior that screams luxury. 20" Alloy wheels come standard in Calais-V and VXR along with an electric sunroof and Adaptive LED Matrix Headlamps that pivot towards wherever you're turning for better visibility. These intuitive lights automatically dim to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. These models also have LED Matrix Headlamps Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL), Automatic leveling headlamps, and Automatic High Beam Assist. Whereas, LED Daytime Running Lights, LED Taillamps, Rear Fog Lamps, and Automatic headlamps with tunnel detection come standard in all models.
The fit and finish of the interior do not dissapoint in any sense. All black and grey with some contrasting highlights. Feature wise, all the variants have Dual-zone climate control, Humidity sensor, phone projection featuring Apple Car Play and Android Auto and Bluetooth with audio streaming as standard. But Bose 8-speaker premium audio system with subwoofer is only part of Calais-V and VXR. With 8” color touch-screen display and Satellite Navigation, you can always find your way home. Steering wheel mounted audio controls, tilt and telescopic steering column and multiway adjustable driver and passenger seats make every drive comfortable. And when it comes to the top of the range models, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, massage function for driver and passenger seat improve just add to the comfort. But the newer versions are not as spacious as the earlier versions.
LT, Calais, RS, and LT are powered by 2.0-Litre Turbo 4-Cylinder Petrol engine while Calais-V, RS-V and VXR are powered by 3.6L V6 petrol engine. Essentially they all come with a 9-speed automatic transmission but for LT and Calais you can choose for 2.0-Liter Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine and 8-speed automatic transmission (diesel engine only). The V6 engine produces a maximum power of 235kw @ 6800rpm and a peak torque of 381Nm @ 5200rpm. It is a great option for those looking for a comfortable drive.
Commodore is equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Electric Park Brake and 4-Wheel Disc Brake. Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist make sure you drive straight and safe. It always feels more secure to know about your changing surroundings while on the move and side blind zone alert along with rear cross-traffic alert provide you with just that (in all models except LT). The safety features include 6 Airbags, Seatbelt Pre-tensioners, and Child Anchorage System. Not to forget the Adaptive Cruise Control (Calais V and VXR models only) that keeps a check on the changing speeds of the cars around you and adjusting accordingly.
Commodore is capable of providing with a relaxing driving experience as a credible long-distance cruiser while staying surprisingly agile despite its dimensions.
