Toyota C-HR Review 2024
The Toyota C-HR looks very distinctive in a field of vehicles that can tend to look a little bit samey. However, this design does not work for everybody. This is a really important segment for Toyota because people started to move up and out of hatchbacks. There are two trim levels on offer, C-HR (the base model) and Koba (top-end model)
Toyota C-HR looks slick, bold and sporty. It gets a distinctive design and precision-cut lines that make the car look very agile. The wide grille, large headlights, and flared body paneling give a robust stance. Talking about the structure of this car, it comes with high-tensile steel that makes the body rigid without adding on extra weight to the car. The aerodynamic design of the car not only looks magnificent but also provides great stability and efficiency. The roof-mounted spoiler and shark fin antenna further intensifies the overall appearance of the car. It also comes with heated and electronically retractable side mirrors and rain-sensing wipers. If you are not satisfied with the appearance of the car, Toyota allows you to further customize the car including wheels, wheel caps, front skirt, side skirts, rear skirt, side garnishes, mirror covers and rear lower trunk garnish.
The interior of this car is beautiful. The layout won’t be for everybody but it is made very finely. All the materials feel great like the creamy leather on the wheel and the shifter to the vast sways of surfaces that cover basically everything you touch. You also get nice sporty fabric seats. On top of that, if you want heated seats, you can opt for the Koba. You only get a little touch-screen, which includes standard navigation and Bluetooth audio. Also, there is no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto support. However, there is a good amount of knee room and headroom for rear passengers as well. The boot is very respectable. You get 177 litres of space, which is great considering the rivals.
Under the hood, there is a 1.2 L four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that churns out 113 hp of supreme power and 185 Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted through a six-speed intelligent manual transmission, which makes the drive easy with smooth gear shifts. The engine is very impressive and delivers great punchy performance in the city. The turbocharging ensures lower fuel consumption and reduces cabin noise for a comfortable drive. C-HR corners extremely flatly with very little body roll. This car is not very fast but it is very agile and handles pretty well.
C-HR features Blind Spot Monitor, which detects vehicle and warns the drive automatically. The lane departure warning comes handy if you accidentally come out of your lane. It also comes with a pre-collision safety system that detects pedestrians and automatically applies brakes. Other standard safety features that C-HR comes equipped with are front and rear parking sensors, seven SRS airbags, three child restraint anchorage points, trailer sway control, vehicle stability control with hill-start assist control and traction control.
