Toyota Camry

This year Toyota has introduced its eighth-generation Camry. It’s one of the best sedans out there, it’s quite economical, comfortable, big and spacious. Now, redefined Corolla looks more classic than ever before, it comes with a lot of features that you might not get in its rivals. 2019 Camry offers you the balanced handling, hybrid engine, and generous engine power. Apart from these improvements, Toyota’s has built this sedan on the latest-generation stiffer and stronger chassis TNGA-K.

Camry is available in four trims Ascent, Ascent Sport, SX and SL. And, it can be equipped with three different engines. The 2.5L Dual VVT 4-cylinder Hybrid engine is available in three trims Ascent, Ascent Sport and SL. It delivers enhanced power and good fuel efficiency. Moreover, this engine can produce a maximum power of 131 kW at 5700 Nm and torque of 221kW at 3600–5200 Nm. While giving you a decent mileage of 4.2l per 100 km. 

Whereas, the 2.5L Dual VVT 4-cylinder petrol engine is available on all grades. It incorporates a lightweight design to deliver powerful performance. This engine can produce a maximum power of 135 kW at 6000 rpm and torque of 221 Nm at 3600–5200 rpm. With this engine, Camry gives you a mileage of 8.3l/100km.

And, a more robust 3.5L V6 petrol engine is available on only SX and SL grades. This engine can produce a maximum power of 224 kW at 6600 rpm and torque of 362 Nm at 4700rpm. It comes with both direct fuel injection and port fuel injection and automatically switches the best one to deliver the optimal response as per the driving conditions. Due to this tech, this engine manages to deliver a mileage of 8.9l/100km. 

From the exterior viewpoint, Camry defies expectations, it looks attractive, muscular and well designed. From the front to the rear it displays sharp looks and sporty design. You’ll get bi-LED auto-leveling headlamps with daytime running lights, LEd tail lamps, sports grille, and rear lip spoiler.

Just like the exteriors, Toyota has redesigned the interiors of this car with high-quality materials. Now, the interior looks purely luxurious and concise. Starting from the touchscreen display, it’s simple yet interactive. You don’t have to think much before operating it. In terms of passenger space, Camry comes equipped with wider and comfortable seats. However, with the sloping roof, tall persons might not fit well in the rear seats. And, due to the ultra-wide and long dashboard, the front seat passengers might not fit well too. 

On the safety and technology front, Camry comes equipped with seven airbags, reversing camera, front and rear park sensors, lane-departure alert, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic high beam, and an electric park brake. In addition to this, Toyota hasn’t compromised with the security of the passengers and all the grades of Camry comes equipped with the automatic emergency braking system. 

Overall, with all the impressive refinements, 2019 Camry becomes one of the worthy sedans. Toyota has worked really well in improving its performance. Especially, when it comes to the handling, you’ll appreciate the precisely weighted and responsive steering. More importantly, the engine is quiet, smooth and even with the CVT transmission, you’ll not feel much lag while forcing for an instant speed boost. 

Loaded with all the necessary safety tech, Camry lacks innovation at some fronts. Plastic steering wheel doesn’t go well in today’s sedans. The infotainment system looks dated and comes with limited functionalities. Like missing Android Auto support. But, except for this, you’ll get a lot for the money.
