The interior of the Holden Astra Sportwagon is stacked up pretty well. The cabin is decently spacious, if not a lot. The dashboard is rather simple but the company did add a lot of designing bits to make it appear more modern.

For the comfort of the driver, there is a 6-way manually adjustable seat, while the front passenger gets a 4-way adjustable unit. The front seats are heated as well. Based on the trip level, there is either a 7-inch or an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MyLink connectivity and satellite navigation. The owners also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity option.

The Holden Astra Sportwagon looks like a stunning wagon car with every aspect in the perfect place. The front fascia exhibits a more black-ish trait and does not have a lot of chrome elements. The DRLs and headlamps are greatly stacked together to form a sleek combination. Moreover, the sleekness is carried to the rear panel too with combination tail lights and a rear roof spoiler.

The car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard and 17-inch for the top model and has parking sensors for the convenience of the driver. The headlight cluster misses out on LED units but gets a projector setup.

The Holden Astra Sportwagon drives well, without a hint of doubt. It has every single element to make the journey comfortable. The steering does not feel heavy at crawling speeds and not unnaturally light at high speeds. And then, with the number of features that are offered for the comfort of the occupants, barely anything can go wrong.

Under the hood of the Holden Astra Sportwagon, there is a rather sedated engine, albeit with a lot of punch lower down. The 1.4-litre turbocharged unit has a 4-cylinder layout and can churn out a maximum power of 150 PS at 5,000 RPM and highest torque of 240 Nm at 2,400 RPM. The produced power is channelled to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox unit.

The car might not be outrageously powerful but is enough to take you to the place you want to get to at pace.

Holden does not compromise on the braking and safety department of the Astra Sportwagon. It gets disc brakes for all the wheels, where the front ones are vented and rear gets solid units. Anti-lock braking system sensors are present on all the four wheels. Further, the braking is assisted by electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist and electronic brakeforce distribution.

You will be amazed to know that the car has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, which is great for the occupants. There are airbags all around the cabin for maximum safety. Lane-keep assists, forward collision warning and side blind-spot alert setup are also given.

The Holden Astra Sportwagon is something that every owner would be proud of. It does not have a long list of features on the specification sheet but does manage to make it worth the price being paid for. Moreover, the fact that it is still head-and-shoulders at par with the popular SUVs itself speaks volume of how amazing the car is.
