Too much attention to styling….sluggish acceleration
The C-HR seems like an amalgamation of a hatchback and an SUV, but it fails to deliver the best of either world. The bold and edgy styling is the most attractive feature of the C-HR, but it compromises on the practicality front. Like the door handles which are placed so high that they are out of reach of small children. Even the visibility is an issue. The ride and transmission are decent while driving through city roads, however, take it on a highway or climb a hill and you will straightaway feel the sluggish acceleration which is annoying. The initial acceleration is also very slow. It takes nearly 10-12 seconds for it to reach 60kmph. On the other side, the mileage is excellent, ranging around 30mpg. Handling is nimble and it cuts through the corners smoothly. The cabin is where it gets thumbs up all around. Minimum cabin noise, reachable controls, comfortable seats, premium toches around the dash, and reasonable legroom at the front and back. The safety features are top-class and are offered as standard, which is a good thing.
