Audi S3 Sedan

Inside the cabin, it gets sport seats in front with power adjusting and heating functions. Leather seat covers with door armrests and knee pads covered appointed leather are part of the pack, while those willing to opt for black leather upholstery with express red stitching and red finishing around AC vents will have to pay an extra premium. For a sporty look, customers can also choose the Express Red leather upholstery diamond-patterned stitching on the S Sport front seats, which are also available as optional. While matt brushed aluminium come with the S3 sedan, those wanting to get illuminated design can pay extra for the same. An automatic dual-zone air-conditioner with climate control, front centre armrest with storage compartment, interior lighting package, leather-covered sports steering wheel, and storage as well as luggage compartment package are some other interior features equipped for occupants’ convenience. The Audi S3 sedan also benefits from a 10-speaker Audi sound system, with Audi’s smartphone interface compatible with iOS and Android devices through USB providing access to approved apps through the MMI system. The talking point inside remains Audi’s digitalized virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch high-resolution colour display. Bluetooth interface for mobile phone connectivity, DAB+ digital radio and driver information system are some other standard connectivity bits. Also, Audi’s MMI navigation plus with MMI touch is a no-cost feature that gets a navigation system with 7-inch high-resolution colour display, electrically extending slimline design, integrated voice control, live traffic updates, Aux-in and 10GB flash memory. 

The front equips LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights; also, all-weather lights, turning lights and motorway light function are part of the lighting pack. The rear also features LED tail-lamps with dynamic rear indicators. A high gloss package can be availed at no additional cost, however, the all-black exterior styling kit costs extra. Audi offers a wide variety of custom options with S3 sedan such as an acoustic hood, aluminium finished roof rails, panoramic sunroof, and privacy glass. As for Audi S3 colour choices, there are plenty of options to choose from save for Brilliant black and Ibis white shades that come as a no-cost option. Similarly, Audi offers a host of options for the alloy wheels, some of which are available with S performance 1, S performance 2 and Assistance package (special packages). Other bits such as tyre pressure monitor, space saver spare wheel and an 18-inch unit are standardized.

Maneuvering the Audi S3 sedan is effortless and the low seating position is favorable for the driver. Also, the Dynamic mode can be used for adjusting steering weight & dampers as well as changing throttle mapping. Overall, the sedan handles well. 

The Audi S3 sedan specs are identical to its Sportback version as it gets the same 2.0-litre, TFSI unit with Audi’s Quattro system as standard. Putting out 213kW between 5,400 to 6,500 rpm, it makes 380Nm torque between 1,850 to 5,300 rpm. Manual version features a six-speed unit and the automatic variant equips a 7-speed S tronic gearbox. Time taken to achieve 0 to 100km/h sprint is 4.8 seconds for manual and 5.3 seconds for the automatic version, while both offer the same top-speed of 250km/h. As for Audi S3 sedan fuel consumption, it is 15.38 kmpl for the six-speed MT variant opposed to it’s AT counterpart rated at 14.7 kmpl.

Braking set-up is solid with ventilated disc units fitted at the front as well as rear. Akin to Sportback version, the S3 sedan also gets a standard safety kit with dual airbags in front for driver and co-passenger, Audi pre-sense city with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC), ABS, ASR, EDL, and brake assist. Other bits such as electromechanical speed-sensitive steering, safety steering column with tilt and telescopic adjustment and seat belt reminders for all passengers. 

The Audi S3 sedan strikes a perfect balance between wild and domesticated. It is a fun car to drive that’s quick and has a charming interior. However, the exterior styling could have been more aggressive.
