Audi Q2 Review 2024
The Audi Q2 received some updates earlier this year headlined by the downsized diesel unit and a bunch of additional features that have been standardized across the range. Another notable change is the new badge that has been tweaked in tandem with Audi’s new powertrain naming structure. Some of the equipment such as dual-zone climate control, rear-view camera, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, parking sensors at both ends and a 7-inch MMI Navigation system supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been carried over from the pre-update version. Coming to Audi Q2 specs, it can be had with either a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol or a 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit. The above-mentioned updates change the Audi Q2 price by a slight margin over the preceding model.

Audi Q2 Interior & Features
The standard front seats in the 35 TFSI variant and the sport seats on the top-spec trim are wrapped with leather upholstery. Those willing to pay extra can go either opt for Milano leather or Alcantara leather (with S logo) upholstery which is specific to the S line sport kit. The heated function is missing in the front seats, it also misses out on LED interior lighting, matt brushed aluminium & anodised white paint inlays. Adding a premium touch to the premium interior is the aluminium finish around air-vents, window switches, glove box, parking brake, and interior mirror switch. A multi-function leather steering wheel, 60:40 split rear folding seats, front centre armrest, and auto-dimming interior mirror are some other standard equipment. While the standard kit is deficient of prominent connectivity features, Audi’s virtual cockpit with digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch high-resolution colour display, Bluetooth interface, digital radio, driver information system, Audi phone box light, etc. are standard. Other advanced bits such as Audi smartphone interface compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-car Wi-Fi hotspot a Google services are part of the pack. Not to forget, the Q2 also features Audi’s MMI navigation set-up with a 7-inch high-resolution colour display including 3D maps, integrated voice control, MMI free text search with intelligent destination suggestions, 8 passive speakers, USB interface with charging function and 2 SDXC card readers.
Q2 Exterior
Sporting large dimensions, the 2019 Audi Q2 measures 4,191mm in length, 1,547mm in width and 1,508mm in height. As for styling, it sports body painted bumpers on both ends and door mirrors that can be adjusted electrically. The additional heated, power-folding and auto-dimming functions on the wing mirrors can be availed with the comfort pack by paying an extra premium. Key elements such as LED headlamps, LED tail-lamps with dynamic indicators and an electric tailgate are standard fitments. However, the panoramic sunroof can be optioned at an additional cost. The base 35 TFSI gets 17-inch alloy wheels and the top-spec 40 TFSI equips larger 18-inch units; also the chunky 19-inch alloys can be availed either by paying an extra cost or by choosing the S line sport package. Customers can choose from a vast variety of Audi Q2 colour options save for Brilliant black and Ibis grey colour schemes that come at no additional cost. The personalization options on the Audi Q2 are vast as it comes with five additional packages-Assistance package, Comfort package, S line exterior package, S line sport package and Technik package.
Audi Q2 Ride & Handling
The ride quality of Audi Q2 is impressive, smooth and comfortable. As for handling, it fares quite well on that front. Both the engines are efficient and the 7-speed S tronic gearbox is responsive as well as smooth in operation.
Q2 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Audi Q2 specifications include two four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines. Powering the Q2 35 TFSI is the 1.4-litre unit which makes 110kW between 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 250Nm torque between 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The more powerful 2.0-litre unit makes 30kW additional power and 7Nm extra torque over the 1.4-litre engine at 140kW and 320Nm respectively. Both the engines are conjunct to a seven-speed S tronic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. As for Audi Q2 fuel consumption, it is rated at 5.3 l/100 km for the Q2 35 TFSI variant and 6.5 l/100 km for the top-spec 40 TFSI trim.
Audi Q2 Braking & Safety
The Audi Q2 packs prominent safety tech such as driver side and co-passenger side airbags in front, side airbags for front seats, head level curtain airbags for front and rear, Audi pre-sense city with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and pedestrian detection. Progressive steering, seat belt reminders for all passengers and tyre pressure loss indicator come at no additional cost. Apart from above-mentioned safety tech, there are some driver assistance systems including Audi active lane assist, adaptive cruise control, Audi side assist-blind spot lane change warning, automatic air conditioning with dual-zone climate control, cruise control with speed limiter, hill hold assist and a rearview camera among several others.
Q2 Verdict
The Audi Q2 is available with a wide variety of personalization options, however, the standard kit is scarce missing out on some of the advanced tech. The engine line-up is powerful and efficient. It has excellent ride quality and the Q2 handles quite well too.
