Audi A7 Sportback

The cabin of the Audi S7 Sportback is a very comfortable place to be in. It has sport seats that have head restraints in the front, along with 4-way electric adjustable lumbar support. The driver’s seat even has the memory function.

The cabin is upholstered in Valcona leather and is offered in three different color options. The dashboard looks futuristic, especially the infotainment display. The touchscreen unit is integrated within a shiny strip of a horizontal design element. There is the Audi Virtual Cockpit for the driver’s console too. The smartphone connectivity and music system are sourced from Audi itself.

The Audi A7 Sportback is a complete knockout when it comes to designing. It looks like a classic sports car, but without compromising on the elegance. The front end is sharp and has a pair of very sleek LED headlamps with laser lights (optional). Moreover, even the taillights get laser light treatment.

The car rides on 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, though there is optional 21-inch 5-V spoke alloy wheels that are covered in 255-section rubber. All the windows are tinted to maintain privacy. Moreover, the front windshield is heat-insulated in order to make the cabin extremely comfortable even during hot summer days.

The Audi A7 Sportback sets its name right by being a very powerful and responsive car. It has a lot of power and torque available at lower engine RPM, which ensures that there is absolutely log on the throttle response. It is even capable of hitting the 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.2 seconds.

The adaptive suspension further makes the drive very smooth and settled. The 7-speed automatic gearbox is further used to enhance the driveability, even in stuffy traffic situations.

The Audi A7 Sportback is offered in two different options, both petrol. The base model gets the 45 TFSI Quattro S Tronic engine that has a 2.0-litre capacity. This is capable of churning out a maximum power of 180 kW, while putting out 370 Nm of peak torque, coming at 1,600 rpm.

The bigger engine gets a 3.0-litre displacement and is capable of churning out a maximum power of 250 kW, along with a peak torque of 500 Nm, which starts coming in completely at 1,370 rpm. The power is sent down to the wheels via a 7-speed Tronic gearbox.

Just like any other model from Audi’s garage, the A7 Sportback too does not compromise on the safety parameters. Firstly, it gets disc brakes on all the wheels, along with the addition of an anti-lock braking system, brake assist, and electronic brakeforce distribution. Further, there are many airbags all along the cabin to ensure the utmost safety of all the occupants. The seat belt buckles are illuminated.

As for the driver’s assistance, there are many additions, like adaptive cruise control, along with speed limiter, Audi pre-sense for the front and rear, 360-degree camera, intersection crossing assistance, lane change assist, cross-traffic alert, and Audi Drive Select.

The Audi A7 Sportback lives up to its name pretty well. Even though the base model, the 45 TFSI, does not have a very roaring engine, the availability of torque at lower RPMs makes it very responsive, thereby making it apt for highway cruising and speeding through open traffic.
