Suzuki recalled 2016-18 Ignis, Baleno models

Suzuki recently issued a recall notice for the 2016-18 model year Ignis and Baleno. The recall concerns about the incorrect information floated in the owner's manual provided at the time of purchasing the vehicle.

According to the firm, the owner’s manual has wrong information in regards to the installation of the ISOFIX child restraint system. If a person installs the seat following the given instructions, there is a risk of injury to the child in the event of an accident.

In Australia, Suzuki is formed by the combination of two separate companies, one operating in Queensland and another operating in the rest of the nation. The VIN list provided by the automaker for both the regions includes total 9817 Ignis and Baleno examples, which can be segregated as:

• Queensland: Total vehicles affected- 1460; 2016-18 Ignis and Baleno
• Rest of Australia: Total vehicles affected - 8357; 2016-17 Ignis and 2016-18 Baleno

The owners of the affected cars will get a notification from Suzuki through mail requesting them to contact their nearest authorized dealer and schedule an appointment for inspection and repair of the vehicle free of cost. Further, the original notice provided by the company can also be checked.
