2020 Nissan Juke to arrive in Australia by mid-2020

2020 Nissan Juke to arrive in Australia by mid-2020

Following the teaser, Nissan revealed the all-new 2020 Juke on the 3rd of September, earlier this year. Being a rather quirky crossover, the Nissan Juke has been a love it or hate it kind of an affair.

However, the Japanese crossover has still managed to rack up some good sales figures over the years. While the newest iteration of the Nissan Juke is certainly less weird than the outgoing model, it will still take no time for the crossover to attract the attention of passersby, especially because of its unique headlamp setup and curvaceous design language.

So, when does the 2020 Nissan Juke finally make land on the Australia shores then? Well, Nissan Australia has, at last, broken silence and revealed that the quirky crossover in its newest avatar will be here by the middle of 2020. Once launched in Australia, the all-new Nissan Juke will take on the likes of Mazda CX-3 & CX-30 siblings, Toyota C-HR, Hyundai Kona, and others in the automotive market. Also, the crossover will stand tall beside its sibling, the Nissan Qashqai in grabbing a hefty market share down under.

Not only the 2020 Nissan Juke looks better than the previous-gen model but also packs in bigger dimension than before. The crossover measures 4210 mm in length, 1595 mm in height, and 1800 mm in height. This makes the new Juke to be bigger than the outgoing model by 75 mm, 30 mm, and 35 mm in terms of length, width, and height, respectively. Also, the wheelbase has gone up by 106 mm to 2636 mm.

The 2020 Nissan Juke comes housing a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol-fed motor making 115 hp of maximum power and 180 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, the "OverTorque" feature can take the peak torque output to 200 Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, both of which send power to the front wheels. While the stick equipped Juke can do a 0 to 100 kmph run in 10.4 seconds, the dual-clutch auto, on the other hand, takes 11.1 seconds to achieve the same feat. And then they say DCGs are faster than humans!

As for the appearance, which plays a vital role in making or breaking the deal when it comes to the Juke, the updated crossover gets the V-motion grille flanked by a pair of slim LED headlamps, all-round body cladding for a rugged look, dual-tone paint schemes, stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, and a curvaceous yet appealing body.

On the inside, the 2020 Nissan Juke features all sorts of modern-day creature comforts including LED ambient lighting, Alcantara leather upholstery, 4.2- or 7-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster, soft-touch trim pieces, and much more. Also, there is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, and an eight-speaker Bose audio setup.

The global edition of the 2020 Nissan Juke is also equipped with the automaker's high-tech ProPilot driver assistance package. The safety suite includes lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and active cruise control.

It will be interesting to witness the spec-sheet of the Australian-spec 2020 Nissan Juke. So, if you were out in the market in search of a stylish and potent enough crossover that makes its presence felt the road, you might just want to wait until Nissan Australia introduces the all-new Juke down under.
