The five-door SUV features a three-row seating configuration on the inside. Thanks to the large dimensions, it has comfortable space in each row and would easily fit full-size adults in second and third rows. The black cloth seat covers match well with the black trims in the base trims, while mid-spec variants come with leather-accented seats and door trims in black and ivory colour options. An audio system with six-speakers, AM/FM/MP3, Aux-In, USB device connectivity, Bluetooth audio streaming with voice recognition an illuminated steering wheel controls are restricted to the base version. The Bose premium audio system with 13 speakers and acoustic waveguide technology is offered from ST-L onwards, while the top grade additionally features a tri-zone entertainment system with wireless headphones remote control, rear HDMI and USB ports for video playback. A large 8-inch touchscreen sits on the dashboard, and there is also a satellite navigation system with traffic monitoring multi-touch controls. The cargo volume with second row in use is 1,354-litre which could be expanded to 2,260-litre by folding both second and third rows. 

Nissan Pathfinder outsizes some of its rivals, thanks to its boastful dimensions that stand at 5,042mm, 1,963mm and 1,793mm (LxWxH). The face equips automatic headlamps and LED daytime running lights, while power door mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators and privacy glass (2nd and 3rd row) are some other standard fitments at the side. Roof rails and 18-inch alloy wheels accentuate sporty character. In addition to the ST features, the newly introduced ST+ receives a heated function for the side mirrors. The ST-L, on the other hand, packs front tilt/slide sunroof and panoramic moonroof, fog lamps, LED headlamps with auto-levelling along with the standard kit. In comparison to the rest of the range, the top-spec TI additionally receives reverse tilt-down feature for the wing mirrors and meaty 20-inch alloy wheels. The colour options available on the SUV include Caspian blue, ivory pearl, gun metallic, diamond black and brilliant silver.

The ride quality is soft and floaty, allowing easy manoeuvring around the city, though slight body roll is evident around corners. Gear shifting is a decent save for some occasions when you have to push hard.

Powering the Nissan Pathfinder is a high capacity 3.5-litre DOHC V6 petrol engine which makes 202kW of top power at 6,400 rpm and 340Nm of peak torque. An intelligent 4x4 drivetrain is standard on the ST and ST+, while it is optional on higher ST-L and TI grades. The Nissan Pathfinder specifications also include a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder supercharged hybrid petrol engine. This engine is tuned to put out 188kW at 5,600 rpm and 330Nm of torque. The hybrid set-up also includes a 15kW electric motor and a 144V lithium-ion battery with a regenerative braking system. Both petrol and petrol-hybrid variants come with two driving modes, hill start assist and an Xtronic continuously variable transmission. The 2WD hybrid variants miss out on the 4x4 drivetrain system, and features such as energy flow meter, active noise control, and idle stop/start are common across the hybrid range. The fuel economy for the 3.5L 2WD engine stands at 9.9l/100km, while its 4WD variant is claimed to deliver 10.1l/100km. According to company claims, the hybrid trims deliver up to 8.7l/100km.

The braking set-up on the Nissan Pathfinder comprises of 320 x 28mm front and 308 x 16mm rear ventilated disc units. Other additional braking features such as anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist add further dint to the braking abilities. Nissan has armed Pathfinder with a plethora of safety features, ensuring the occupants are well-shielded in case of an untoward event. The comprehensive standard safety kit on the Pathfinder includes dual front airbags, side curtain airbags, vehicle dynamic control with the traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring, 3-point emergency locking retractor front seatbelts and 3-point automatic emergency locking retractor rear seatbelts.
