Mazda 6 Sedan

The Mazda 6 is a medium-sized car in the company’s portfolio. A recent update sees changes in context to aesthetic appeal, mechanicals, and other bits. One of the major changes on the sedan is the omission of the oil burner, hence the updated Mazda 6 is available with a single petrol unit tuned to put out power in two states of tune. Power is sent to the wheels through an automatic transmission. As for variants, the line-up is available in four grades including Sport, Touring, GT and Atenza with prices falling in the range of $34,490 to $49,890 (MRLP), depending on the variant one picks. Colour options available on the mid-sized sedan are as follows-machine grey metallic, soul red crystal metallic, sonic silver metallic, titanium flash mica, blue reflex mica, jet black mica, snowflake white pearl, and deep crystal blue mica. 

The mid-sized model has a bold presence thanks to the boastful proportion with its length gauging at 1,450 mm, width at 1,840 mm and height at 1,450 mm. At the front, it features LED headlamps with high beam control and an auto on/off function. It also gets two-speed wipers with rain-sensing function at the front along with a standard rear window demister. The bold mesh grille meets seamlessly with the sleek headlamps and the bonnet sports sharp lines that trickle down on the grille. Moving to the sides, the wing mirrors get integrated turn indicators and a thin chrome lining around the window frame. The talking point on the side panels, however, remains the stylishly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels. Akin to front, the rear also gets LED tail-lamp units and other key elements such as chrome-tipped exhausts, steeply raked in the windscreen, etc. complete the rear styling. 

The cabin of this five-seater sedan is packed to the gill with comfort and connectivity features such as dual-zone climate control with rear vents, two 12V power outlets, standard power windows at both ends (front and rear) and frameless rearview mirror with auto-dimming function. Other features including cruise control, ambient temperature display, active driving display, heated steering wheel function, heated seats at front and rear, Nappa leather seat covers are available depending on the variant. Utility points have also been provided in the cabin such as cup-holders, door bottle holders at front and rear doors, illuminated glove box, door pockets, etc. Luggage storing space with rear seats in use is around 474-litres. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with multi-function commander control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are also layered inside. 

As mentioned earlier the diesel engine has been dropped from the line-up and it gets a high-displacing 2.5-litre, in-line, four-cylinder, petrol turbo unit that has been calibrated to put out power in two tunes-140kW and 170kW. The lower trims receive 140kW version, while the more powerful 170kw unit is reserved for the higher variants. An automatic gearbox is paired to both the versions for transmitting drive to wheels. Braking power is derived from ventilated disc units at the front and at the back. Multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, emergency brake assist, dynamic stability control and a plethora of other safety tech are packed in the Mazda 6 sedan.
