Kia Australia confirms the specifications of new Seltos

The South Korean auto giant, Kia Motors has announced the specifications for the new Seltos, which will launch in Australia this October. The car will arrive in the familiar trim levels that include Sport, S, Sport+ and GT-Line.

The new Kia Seltos will be available in two different options - a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol unit. The former is capable of making a maximum power of 147.5 hp and the peak torque is 180 Nm. It is further aided by the fuel-efficient Atkinson cycle along with a new fuel-saving CVT automatic transmission. The car can complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in 9.6 seconds.

On the other hand, the later mill pushes out a maximum power of 174 along with a peak torque of 265 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Starting from 0, the engine can complete the 100 kmph mark in just 8.0 seconds.

‘S’ is the entry-level variant of new Kia Seltos, which has several features that include 16-inch alloy wheels, reversing camera, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, cruise control, automated emergency braking having front collision warning, 8-inch infotainment system, fabric seats, etc. Mechanically, it comes with only the 2.0-litre gasoline engine option.

It is followed by the Sport, which sits in the second-tier across all the variants. It is the 2.0-litre gasoline engine, which is present under its hood. Apart from the features of the ‘S’ variant, the additional/improved features for Sport are 17-inch alloys, a big 10.25-inch infotainment system, fog lights, automatic demisting, full-size spare, climate control as well as steering wheel and gear shifter in faux leather. 

The better version of the Sport is Sport+, which comes with the 1.6-litre turbo-four mill. Other upgrades are - cloth and artificial leather seat trim, electric folding and heated side mirrors, heated front seats, electro-chromatic rear-view mirror, heated steering wheel, advanced smart cruise control, front parking sensors, blind-spot detection, the keyless entry having push-button ignition and tinted windows.

The GT-Line is the top-spec version of the new Kia Seltos that has the 1.6-litre turbo-four mill. The notable upgrades for the version include ventilated and heated front seats, 18-inch alloys, mood lighting, artificial leather seats, wireless charging, automatic wipers, 7-inch driver’s screen having the head-up display, a sunroof, LED interior lights, LED headlights with DRLs and fog lights.
