Get your Renault Koleos equipped with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

The 2020 Renault Koleos has arrived on the Australian shores. And, we have already let out all the reasons that make the French SUV a sweet deal. The updated Renault Koleos gets three variants, namely Life, Zen, and Intens with the latter available in both FWD and AWD guises. Also, the SUV is now better equipped than ever before thanks to the presence of modern-day tech, features, and creature comforts like 19-inch alloy wheels, electric panoramic sunroof, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, heated & ventilated front seats, and much more.

The major change, however, comes in the form of the large 7- or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and navigation. So, with the new Koleos bolstered with pretty much all that you'll ever need inside of your SUV, the French deal has now become too good to be missed upon, right? Besides that, Renault has also brought in a delicious surprise for the owners having Koleos that was made before September 2017.

The news for the customers having a Renault Koleos that was built before September 2017 is that they can now upgrade the infotainment system of their SUV to feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The upgrade will cost $486.40, and both the hardware and the software will be upgraded. Both Toyota and Mazda have previously come up with such upgrades, and the two automakers charge $199 and $495 for the upgrade, respectively.

“The timing of recent announcements around mobile phone detection cameras rolling out in some states makes this kit even more timely and we’re pleased to offer a safe and convenient solution to more customers to complement the many Renault vehicles already built as standard with this latest functionality,” said Matthew Wright, Renault Australia after sales and quality director.

The upgrade will take around an hour to be performed, and the same has been specifically designed for the Koleos II. With that said, other Renault vehicles cannot be equipped with the new hardware and software. “This retrofit kit is being launched globally first in Australia and is a direct result of the team at Renault Australia wanting to ensure that Renault vehicles are fitted with products that continue to provide drivers with an easy life in an ever-increasing technology-driven marketplace,” added Wright.
