2020 Toyota Corolla pricing and specs revealed

The new Toyota Corolla is ready to come on the roads with upgraded technical attributes and customized options. Toyota Australia has recently unveiled the price and specs of the 2020 Toyota Corolla hatch. The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are added as standard appointments in all the variants while the top-spec is loaded with better safety features. Not only this, the flagship ZR models are now available with a choice of the two-tone paint scheme.

As per the announcement made by the company's official in July, "Owners will be able to upgrade their vehicles to be compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. We don’t have full details of the program to share today, but we will make an announcement in the near future". 

Following the same, the new Corolla specs sheet includes the most recent infotainment system with smartphone mirroring across the range.

The Toyota Corolla SX and ZR models are now equipped with the following safety specs:

• Low-speed reverse AEB
• Dubbed parking support brake
• Rear cross-traffic alert
• Eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat 

Moving on to the oily bits, the new Toyota Corolla engine bay offers two options:

• 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit churning out 170 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque
• 1.8-litre hybrid system. producing 122 PS of power

All the models come with a CVT automatic transmission as standard except the 2.0-litre Ascent Sport, which offers a six-speed manual transmission.

Sean Hanley, the vice president for sales and marketing of Toyota Australia mentioned the fact that when Toyota launched the all-new Corolla hatch last year, customers appreciated the high level of safety and features in the car. However, technology is always evolving and Toyota is keen to offer customers more options to further improve the vehicles they drive, whether from safety, comfort or style perspective.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla hatch price tags are:

• Ascent Sport 2.0L - $23,335/$24,835 (+$465)
• Ascent Sport Hybrid - $26,335 (+$465)
• SX 2.0L - $28,235 (+$1365)
• SX Hybrid - $29,735 (+$1365)
• ZR 2.0L - $32,135 (+$1765)
• ZR Hybrid - $33,635 (+$1765)
