Nissan’s popular compact crossover, Qashqai gets updates for 2020
Nissan’s third-generation Qashqai gets a pair of new hybrid powertrains and an updated version of the CMF alongside a sleek design makeover for 2020. The popular compact crossover carries its standard set equipment for the base Qashqai. The additional pieces of equipment include a new 7.0-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The other notable features of the updated offering include an electric park brake, push-button start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard fit on the base ST. The car rides on a standard set of 17-inch wheels.
Coming to the ST+ variant of the Qashqai lineup, which was recently added to the range in May 2019, gets a rise in its price to $31,990 (marking an additional increase of $500) before on-road costs. The ST+ variant boosts standard equipment levels.
The other add-ons for the ST+ include factory navigation, a surround-view camera, and power-folding heated mirrors. Interestingly, the 2020 ST+ also gets a full suite of semi-autonomous driver aids for improved driving.
Coming to the ST-L variant, the Qashqai gets an elevated height via its 18-inch alloy wheels. The other exclusive pieces of equipment include heated front seats with electric adjustment for the driver, roof rails, and leather-accented trim throughout. The ST-L gets a price tag of $34,000 which marks an increase of $710.
Interestingly, the lineup gets a new variant, N-Sport, priced from $35,000. The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and is separated from the wider range via its side skirts, body-coloured bumpers, and wheel arches with matte silver trim. Nissan will be offering only 600 examples of the N-Sport.
Finally, coming to the range-topping Ti, it gets a tag of $38,490, making it costlier by $500. The add-ons to this variant are Quilted leather trim, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise, LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Regardless of specs as mentioned above, the power to the entire range is delivered via a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing a maximum power of 144 hp and a peak torque of up to 200 Nm, powering the front-wheel drive.
