2020 Nissan Navara N-Guard trim debuts in Europe

The popular 2020 Nissan Navara has just received a new variant. The debut of the new N-Guard variant has been launched in Europe and gets a good bit of cosmetic and feature updates.

To start with, the 2020 Nissan Navara N-Guard gets a range of features inside the cabin. The infotainment system gets the same 8-inch touchscreen display with NissanConnect, though Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are new additions. There is GPS navigation in the functionalities’ list, along with over-the-air software updates.

As for the mechanism under the hood, there is a 2.3-litre, 4-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine that is capable of making a maximum power of 190 PS at 3,750 RPM along with a humongous torque of 450 Nm, which comes at just 1,500 RPM. The transmission is handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, though the buyers can also opt for a 7-speed automatic stick. Both the transmission options are coupled with a part-time 4WD drivetrain.

With such a powerful and torque-friendly engine, the new Navara pickup can hit an acceleration of 0-100 in just 11.2 seconds It has a cargo-carrying capacity of 1,100 kilograms and can tow up to 3,500 kilograms.

As for the braking, the 2020 Nissan Navara N-Guard gets disc brakes on all the four wheels. Along with that, it gets Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility, Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Trailer Sway Assist and Hill Descent Control.

Aesthetically, the new variant of the Navara a new paint scheme - Electric Blue, which joins the presently available white, black and grey. The leather seat upholstery gets contrasting blue stitches and the same treatment is done on the door cards as well.

The Nissan Navara that is presently sold in the Australian market is available in two engine tunings. The top-grade gets the same engine as the newly launched N-Guard in Europe. However, there is also a single turbocharger option available, which makes 163 PS of power and a peak torque of 403 Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard. Prices start at $25,990 and go up to $62,990 for the N-Trek Warrior Dual Cab variant.
