2020 BMW X5 pricing and specification details officially announced in Australia
The pricing and specifications of the 2020 BMW X5 line-up have been formally announced for Australia. Earlier, the brand confirmed that there are three new variants. The new base model of the range is X5 xDrive25d, while the X5 xDrive45e is better than these and X5 M50i xDrive being the flagship version.
The xDrive25d comes with a plethora of features including 20-inch light-alloy wheels having run-flat tyres, comfort access and keyless start, ambient interior lighting, leatherette upholstery, fine brown wood and high-gloss trim inserts, a head-up display, dual-12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and driver's information, Apple CarPlay and wireless smartphone charging.
Other notable features include aluminium roof rails, adaptive LED headlights, heated front seats, Parking Assistant Plus that contains a 360-degree camera system and the Driving Assistant Professional suite of active safety and assistance systems.
The Connected Package Professional's subscription is also provided to the entry-level X5 that contains Remote Services. The intelligent voice assistant, BMW Connected+, real-time traffic information, Concierge Services, and USB map updates.
The car is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which can make a maximum power of 228 hp and the peak torque is 450 Nm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic and has an all-wheel-drive system. Starting from 0, the car can hit the 100 kmph mark in just 7.5 seconds.
The X5 xDrive45e is the second in the list that is the first plug-in hybrid. It combines a 24kWh lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor, and a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine. It can make a maximum power of 389 hp along with a peak torque of 600 Nm. The X5 PHEV is capable of hitting three-digit figures, starting from 0 in just 5.6 seconds. The battery can provide an overall range of around 65 kilometres.
As for the pricing, the base xDrive25d is priced at $99,900, X5 xDrive45e holds a sticker price of $129,900 and at last, X5 M50i xDrive comes with a price tag of $151,900. The sale of the updated X5 range has been started, with the deliveries to start from the fourth quarter.
