BMW X5

BMW X5 is a 5-door SUV that is powered by the same 3.0L I6 engine that comes standard with AWD system and 8-speed automatic Steptronic transmission. When compared to its predecessor, 2019 X5 looks identical in terms of exterior design, but the dimensions have been altered and now you’ll get more cabin space, legroom, and second-row space. Also, the height of the new X5 is increased from 1745 mm to 1762 mm. 

Available in three trims, xDrive 30d, xDrive 40i, and M 50d. The initial one is fuelled by diesel and can produce a maximum power of 195 kw and torque 620Nm, and can go from 0-100 km/hr in 6.5 seconds. The second one and particularly the only petrol variant of X5, xDrive 40i can produce a maximum power of 250 kw and torque of 450 Nm and can go from 0-100 km/hr in 5.5 seconds. Whereas, the M50d can produce a maximum power of 294 kw and torque of 760 Nm, and can go from 0-100km/hr in just 5.2 seconds. 

Among all these models, a lot of exteriors, interior, entertainment, and safety features come as standard. Furthermore, in terms of exteriors, you’ll get standard adaptive LED headlights, high beam assist, front LED fog lights, rear LED taillights, electrically foldable heated side mirrors, rear fog lights, rain sensor with the automatic headlight on function, panorama glass sunroof (30% bigger than predecessor). 

In terms of interior, you’ll get standard leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning with four-zone climate control, electric seat adjustment function with seat memory for the driver, heated seats for front passenger and driver, optional ventilated and massaging seats, BMW head-up display. 

With all such luxury, BMW has also improved and advanced the active and passive safety features too and has taken them to another safe level. Now from the base variant you’ll get M sport brakes, head airbags for 1st and 2nd row, side and curtain airbags, inner vented front and rear disc brakes, dynamic braking lights, dynamic stability control, anti-lock braking system, dynamic traction control, active cruise control, cross-traffic warning for front and rear vehicles, steering and lane control assist, lane-keeping assistant with side collision warning, crossroads warning and evasion aid, and parking assistant plus system that displays surround view, panoramic view and 3D view. 

The only variation between all the variants can be counted as X5 xDrive 30d and X5 xDrive 40i trim comes with 20-inch light-alloy wheels and run-flat tyres, 10 loudspeakers with 205W digital amplifier. Whereas the top trim comes with M sport exhaust system, M sport differential, diesel particulate filter, integral active steering, BMW laser light, lumbar support for driver and front passenger, Harman Kardon surround sound system that comes with 16 speakers and 464W digital amplifier, and cup holders that can be heated or cooled, 22-inch light-alloy wheels, and automatic soft-close function for doors. 

BMW X5 is competing against Mercedes Benz GLE, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, Porsche Cayenne, Lexus RX350. And, when compared to these cars, X5 comes with edgier styling, customizable ambient lighting, a nicely styled cabin that furnishes it a distinctive yet attractive appearance.
