2019 Hyundai Kona recalled due to an incorrectly fit brake tube
Following the recall that was first issued in January, earlier this year, Hyundai has now recalled another set of 1115 MY19-plated units. The reason? Well, it is the same brake issue that has been haunting the South Korean automaker for some time now.
"During assembly, the vehicles may not have had the front brake tube fitted correctly. The tube may come in contact with the exhaust system and the braking performance could be compromised. In addition, a fire could result”, said Hyundai.
With the addition of another 1115 units, the total number of the Hyundai Kona crossovers affected by the recall has now gone up to 6084. Moreover, the vehicles affected by issue were sold from the 20th of April in 2018 to the 8th of March in 2019.
The Hyundai Kona owners who bought their crossovers on or between the aforementioned dates are suggested to visit their nearest Hyundai dealership and get the brake tube replaced. The respective owners can also make a call at 1800 186 306. Note that Hyundai will replace the brake tube free of cost.
