Volvo V90 Review 2024
Sippi Vig says
Volvo has been one of the major players in the luxury wagon division. With V90 Cross Country Station Wagon, Volvo has further exceeded the expectations of the buyers. V90 is available in only single grade D5 Cross Country and comes with a starting price of $80,990. It is powered by the 2.0L diesel engine mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. Along with this, to make your ride more powerful, V90 gets the standard all-wheel drive. So from the striking exteriors to the luxury interiors, everything is designed to amaze you. V90 wagon is relatable to the now discontinued S90 sedan and XC90 SUV. It gets the same design, tech, and interior elements. Like you’ll get the leather upholstery, leather and aluminium accents, and infotainment system. However, being a wagon, V90 gets you the most comfortable ride while travelling long distances. The fold-down booster seats give great relief when driving with kids. Being a Cross Country Wagon, V90 offers a generous cargo room, passenger space, and ground clearance of 210 mm. This year upgrade includes an array of new active safety features, while all other things remain unchanged for V90.

The front fascia looks wider and clutches Volvo signature grille, foglights with cornering function, and LED headlights with active bending lights function. While the rear fascia gets the long vertical integrated taillights and dual exhaust tips. The clean taunt lines over the body of Volvo V90 reflects the true craftsmanship and makes this wagon looks confident from every angle. Likewise, the 20-inch 10-spoke black diamond-cut large alloy wheels boost the presence of V90 and poise the strength of this country station wagon. With this, V90 offers generous ride height with enough ground clearance of 210 mm. Volvo V90 Ride & Handling

To shape the V90 as the comfortable luxury station wagon, Volvo has installed double-wishbone transverse link suspension in the front and integral axle suspension in the rear. This combination delivers a flawless ride quality and keeps you at the centre of comfort. While in terms of handling, it’s light and perfect. And, whole driving the V90, it more feels like driving a wagon with no efforts. Even on the sharp turns, despite its lengthened size, V90’s handling work with perfection. Also with the standard all-wheel drive, V90 ensures traction that you expect from touring wagons.

Available in only a single grade D5 Cross Country, V90 gets the powerful and fuel-efficient twin-turbocharged 2.0 L four-cylinder diesel engine. This engine is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission and delivers swift power to the wheels. The 2.0 L engine can produce a maximum power of 173 kW at 4000 rpm and torque of 480 Nm at 1750–2250 rpm. With this, V90 takes only 7.5 seconds to get from 0–100 kmph and can reach a maximum speed of 225 kmph. Further, the Powerpulse tech ensures no turbo lag when pushing for more speed so that you can get the seamless throttle response. While with the fuel consumption of 5.7 litres per 100 km, V90 makes one of the fuel-efficient and sturdy station wagon.
Volvo V90 Braking & Safety
V90 gets the all-wheel ventilated disc brakes, which makes braking confident and perfect. It takes only 155 feet to stop the vehicle from 70 mph. However, with the all-season tires, the braking distance extends a little. But when compared with other wagons in the segment, V90 gets you the best braking potential. Plus, it gets the automated emergency braking so that whenever you lose attention, the braking remains unaffected. Moreover, on the driver assistance and safety front, Volvo has packed the V90 with the most advanced features. It gets standard seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection with cross-traffic alert, 360-degree camera, front and rear park assist, and head-up display to keep you informed with all the essential metrics without letting you look down.
