Moving inside the car, the Alltrack offers a very luxurious and inviting look and feel. The Alltrack delivers smooth handling with easy cruising through the harsh turns. The car handles corners relatively well and there's a noticeable body roll when going around turns. With the increased 175 mm of ground clearance, the Alltrack makes it highly comfortable for off-road driving. The off-road mode featured in the car is relatively mild and lays an effect on the ABS, throttle gain and hill descent control.

Both the trims of Golf Alltrack come laden with a turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 177 hp and generates peak torque of up to 280 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission as standard. The 4Motion all-wheel-drive function serves as a standard feature and the engine is efficient enough to cover speeds of zero to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. The engine is capable of returning an average mileage of 14.7 kmpl.

2020 VW Golf Alltrack comes with manoeuvre braking at both front and the rear axles. It helps to decrease the collision probability by using automatic braking if the parking sensors detect an obstacle. It provided strong crash-test results and created a solid portfolio of driver-assistance for itself in the round out of the Alltrack's commendable safety tests. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the car with a five-star rating. The enhanced safety includes seven airbags, driver fatigue detection, electromechanical parking brake, and auto hold.
