The next-gen Mazda 3 hatch has made its way to the market with six variants, eight exterior colours, and five interior trim options. The hatchback is packed with technology and built on the lines of KODO design that makes it unique as well as slightly high-priced than rivals in the small car market. Though the higher price tag could make auto lovers scratch their heads but after looking upon that feature-loaded specsheet the worries would dissipate for sure. While the sleek exteriors will grab your attention at first, the suave interiors will make you drool over it time and again. The centre of attraction inside the cabin is the big 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MZD Connect and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Look beyond the multi-functional 3-spoke steering wheel with heating feature and you’d find a 7-inch LED instrument cluster with Active Driving Display which is something that’s offered as standard across the range. Some other bits include heated front seats, 360-degree view monitor, commander control and a premium-grade BOSE surround sound system with 12 speakers and an amplifier. The spirited performance of the hatch is derived from two engines, 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G with i-stop, in-line four-cylinder engine and 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G with i-stop and cylinder deactivation, in-line four-cylinder engine. While the former is good for 155PS and 200Nm, the latter is capable of churning out 189PS and 252Nm. Transmission types available are 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT and 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic. Not only you’d experience sharp response but the engine will take care of your pocket by yielding a respectable fuel economy. The automaker regards safety to be the most important aspect in a car.
