Volvo reduced servicing-plan charges in Australia

The high service charges have always been a frustrating thing for the buyers of premium Volvo cars. Due to this concern, the automaker has designed new servicing plans to please the customers. Volvo Australia has introduced capped-price servicing across its range including sedans, wagons, and SUVs. And the cut-down prices have brought Volvo in line with the German automaker BMW.

Three years or 45,000 km service plan for the S60, V60, and XC40 is now priced at $1595. For petrol XC60 and XC90, it costs around $1795 and for diesel XC60, XC90 and V90 Cross Country, servicing is priced at $1895. While, BMW charges $1550 for the X1 and X2 models - the rivals of Volvo XC40; and to maintain 3 Series - rival of Volvo S60, it charges $1565 and for its SUV X3 - rival of Volvo XC60, it takes $1750. And for the top-spec BMW X5, the servicing plan charges $155 more than the Volvo XC90. On the other side, the capped servicing plans of Volvo equivalent models of Mercedes Benz are $200-$700 expensive.

In a recent interview, Nick Connor, Volvo Australia managing director stated, “We're definitely aware of the price of servicing, thanks largely to you guys. And we are doing something about it. We will be lowering the costs of our servicing and delivering better pricing with fixed price servicing."

The huge response of customers for the models XC40 and XC60 have turned the sales figures of Volvo this year, the market trend starts to slope upwards now. The firm’s year to date sales in 2019 stands at 5078 cars and in 2018, it was 4243 cars at this time. The upcoming S60 and V60 will contribute to the increasing market trend and growth of the firm, moreover, the arrival of the first fully electric vehicle in 2020 will also bring more worth.
