Specs and pricing of 2020 Audi A5

Audi has slashed the price of 2020 Audi A5. It now starts at $78,900,  plus on-road charges for the Coupe and Sportback, whereas the drop-top Cabriolet is available at a price tag of $92,400. With the drop in the price, Audi has loaded a bunch of safety and convenience features to its 45 TFSI Quattro models, which is worth $9000 to reverse its local sales slide. However, the pricing for the base model A5 remains the same, with the 40 TFSI starting at $70,100, and $83,600 for the convertible.

The top of the range A5 45 TFSI Quattro comes equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor, which is capable of putting out 248 hp of maximum power and 340 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a dual-clutch seven-speed transmission, and Quattro all-wheel drive is standard. 

Moving to the list of standard equipment, it now flaunts an S line exterior package with sleek 19-inch alloy wheels, a wireless charger, memory driver’s side seats and side mirrors, dual USB ports for the rear passenger and heated front seats. The update also includes active lane assist, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, high beam assist, a surround-view camera and park assist. 

Shawn Ticehurst, Audi Australia product planning and pricing director, stated: “The stunning A5 is an Audi design icon that perfectly fits the brief of a contemporary sports coupe. On the other hand, the five-door Audi Sportback concept offers similarly distinct styling, sporty performance, and a uniquely versatile body concept, luring buyers that might have traditionally looked at a sedan instead.” Even if A5 Sportback sales were up, the sales for Coupe and Convertible siblings dropped by 43.7 percent.
