Nissan Patrol special off-road edition

Nissan Patrol is one of the top-selling models of Nissan in Australia and as unveiled earlier that 2020 Nissan Patrol is ready to hit the market soon. Now, it is heard that the carmaker is in line to bring an all-new off-roader edition.

The Nissan Patrol off-road will be based on the top-spec Nissan Navara and will compete with Toyota Rugged X and Ford Ranger Raptor. Further, it is reported that the carmaker has already partnered with an engineering firm in Australia which may reveal the new vehicle surprisingly.

The top-spec Nissan Navara is expected to be available in showrooms soon whereas the firm has not started the worked on improvised Patrol yet. The carmaker is looking positively at it and also trying to look for other opportunities in its range.

Nissan Australia boss Stephen Lester quoted, “Based on our current portfolio we’ve got a whole host (of options). We’ve got a very good complement of SUVs and crossovers and we’ve also got Patrol at the top end of the... SUV segment, which makes a lot of sense.”

Further, he added that the sales of Patrol has been doubled over the past two years with minimal advertising and also observed that the segment has been very strong. And, also the Nissan Patrol missed diesel engine which was “markedly becoming less of an issue in terms of the global mindset around where diesel sits versus petrol versus all the other concepts people are looking at,” said Mr. Lester.

The automaker is also finding avenues to get the enhancement packs locally- fit for the whole SUV range.

Mr. Lester also stated that the firm is hopeful for X-Trail and Qashqai performance but things seem disappointing for the Pathfinder, as it is not performing so well in the segment.
