Mitsubishi recalls 100,000 units of Triton pickup over faulty towbar wiring
Recalls over faulty parts and safety issues have not been very common in the Australian automobile sector. But one of the latest recalls to join this infamous list is Mitsubishi. The Japanese automaker has recalled over 100,000 units of the Triton pickup spanning over the 2015-2019 model years.
The issue that has been detected by Mitsubishi Australia is an incorrectly installed towbar wiring harness. This faulty installation may cause the liquid to come in contact with wires, thereby leading to overheating, or even fire.
According to the official words coming from Mitsubishi, all the concerned owners will be contacted over mail. The owners are free to walk into any dealer they prefer and the service will be done free of cost.
If you own a Mitsubishi Triton and want to find out whether your vehicle has the same issue or not, you can get in touch with Mitsubishi Motors Australia on 1800 931 811. Alternatively, you can also dial 1300 131 21 to get through to your preferred dealer for more information.
The present generation of the Mitsubishi Triton is powered by a 2.4-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 180 PS, along with a peak torque of 430 Nm. Transmission duties are handled either by a manual or an automatic gearbox.
