Ford Ranger Wildtrak X special edition on sale, limited to 1000 units

The limited-run special edition Wildtrak X of Ford Ranger, the top-selling ute of the company is ready to come on roads from this month. As noted, only 1000 units of the adventure theme version will be produced and sold. The automaker recently announced the pricing and specifications of the model and distinguished characteristics can be seen on styling and technology in comparison to the ongoing ute in the market.

On the exterior, the provided changes include new 18-inch alloy wheels with +35mm in a matte black finish, a black nudge bar with LED light bar black fender flares, an A-pillar mountain snorkel, more dark finish on the front grille, door handles, and lower bumper. The high standard specifications of the special edition include an 8.0-inch Sync 3 infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, along with keyless entry and push-button start, orange stitching for leather-appointed seats, gearshift, handbrake and steering wheel. Driver assistance features include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, hill descent control, hill launch assist, an electronic differential at the rear, active park assist, and tyre pressure monitoring.

Ranger Wildtrak X comes with the option of 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel and 2.0-litre four-cylinder bi-turbo diesel, the former is coupled with standard six-speed automatic transmission and produces 197 PS of power and 470 Nm of torque, the latter scores a 10-speed auto delivers 213 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. Irrespective of mechanical bits, the vehicle maintains 3500 kg maximum towing capacity, however, the bi-turbo model offers 30 kg extra payload.

Ford Australia states that Wildtrak X "comes between current Wildtrak and Raptor models and heralds a more off-road focused, highly capable and outdoors-oriented model, combining Ranger’s capability with the comfort, convenience, and high-spec of the Wildtrak". The August sales chart of the firm depicts that Ranger continues as the top-selling vehicle of the firm in Australia and beats the rival Toyota Hilux in the 4x4 ute category. The local showroom pricing starts at $65,290 (excluding on-road costs) for the 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel model whereas 2.0-litre four-pot bi-turbo diesel model price starts at $66,790 (excluding on-road costs).
