"They’re either holding onto what they’ve got for a little bit longer or there’s less incentive to update because they are already on a low finance rate. Then you’ve got a lot of deals falling over on finance, so it’s a bit of a disaster really", cited an expert.

Moving to the list of top-sellers in terms of specific models, the likes of the Hyundai i30, Toyota RAV4, Kia Cerato, and the Toyota Prado were the models in the top 10 with a growth in their sales figures. On the other hand, all of the other models in the list of top 10 best-sellers including Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Toyota Corolla, Mazda CX-5, Nissan X-Trail, and the Mitsubishi ASX witness a fall in their sales charts.

• Mitsubishi ASX: 1490 (-14.3%)

The top-ten chart was led by the Toyota Corolla from 2013 to 2015 before the same automaker's Hilux ute came on top and topped the chart successive years. Even in 2019, it seems pretty clear that it will be the Toyota Hilux once again that will take the crown.
