2021 Honda Civic Type-R Limited Edition unveiled
Honda Civic Type R is one of the best-known passenger-performance cars to be available globally. But now, the Japanese automaker has made things better for the interested buyers, albeit in limited numbers.
The Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition has now been officially revealed in the Australian market and is said to be available in a very small number. However, the best part of this limited edition model is that it is built to be a race track machine and has a good reduction of weight.
The limited-edition Civic Type R now rides on 20-inch BBS alloy wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. This setup ensures that there is some bit of weight-saving, besides offering the drivers with more feedback from the drive. The dampers have been modified too to make the car more stable.
Apart from there, the weight-saving spree has been carried out all over the car. Sound insulation mechanism has been reduced from the roof, front bumper, rear hatch and also made certain tweaks on the front dashboard. Yet, to make it more practical to the real world, the automaker has retained the rear seats. In fact, at the media release, the automaker mentioned that the limited-edition model does not compromise on usability unlike other brands and hence, has retained the rear row. Of course, it took a dig at Renault for its Megane Trophy-R.
Having said that, the Honda Civic Type-R Limited Edition is powered by the same 4-pot engine that pumps out 306 hp of maximum power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The power is channelled to the front wheels only. It also has quite a lot of additions in the driver’s assistance package, including lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency brakes and adaptive cruise control.
The limited-edition Type-R also gets the LogR system, which tracks and analyses the driver while on the road. The system is connected with a smartphone and has a display to monitor the performance. The primary goal of this setup is to encourage the drivers to be masters with the gearshifts, clutch and accelerator.
If you are interested in getting your hands on the Civic Type-R Limited Edition, you can express your interest now. However, it won’t go on sale before 2021.
