2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Pricing and Specs revealed

The midsize crossover, Mitsubishi Outlander has undergone mild updations for the model year 2020. The main added feature is autonomous emergency braking to the entire automatic Outlander range. This life-saving technology becomes the standard feature for the entry-level ES 2.4L trim, earlier the technology was only meant for the 'LS' model with seven seats or the ES ADAS with five seats. Some other features are also added to the base automatic range which includes an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, automatic headlamps and wipers.

In addition to the aforementioned safety feature, some technical upgrades have also been done. The 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is replaced with an 8.0-inch unit in the complete range. CarPlay and Android Auto is added in all the models. But the TomTom navigation with speed limit information is added only in the top of the range Exceed model.

Other standard feature included is powered lumbar support on the driver's seat. The models without sunroof will now have an overhead storage console containing a sunglass holder, seatbelt reminder, and airbag cutoff indicator. Further, an extra USB port and simpler air-conditioning controls are also provided for the rear passengers.

Moving on to the mechanical bits, the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in three engine options - first is  naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre petrol churning 149 hp power and 190 Nm of peak torque in the manual ES, next is 2.4-litre petrol engine offered in the rest of the range, mated with a CVT, and produces 168 hp  power and 220 Nm of peak torque, while the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel hooked with a six-speed automatic transmission makes 149 hp power and 360 Nm peak torque.

The top of the spec Exceed AWD version features Mitsubishi’s new ‘Super All Wheel Control’ (S-AWC) system, which includes active yaw control and four driving modes – ‘AWC Eco’, ‘Normal’, ‘Snow’ and the new ‘Gravel’.
