2020 Mitsubishi ASX pricing and specs
Mitsubishi Australia revealed the pricing and specs of its new-look ASX, with added equipment and a new engine. The updated lineup got the autonomous emergency braking feature as standard and costs around $24,990 drive-away for the base trim.
As reported earlier, the model has gone through overhauling design process after a decade. The noteworthy changes include a revised nose with Mitsubishi's 'Dynamic Shield' design language which is identical to the other models of the brand viz. Eclipse Cross, Outlander, Triton and Pajero Sport. The other styling appointments are new grille, headlights, bumpers, and square-shaped fog-lights.
Inside the cabin, the new ASX specs sheet incorporates:
- A new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
- DAB radio
- Four-speaker sound system
- keyless entry
- Fabric seats
- Rockford premium audio system and in-built TomTom navigation in flagship Exceed model
Apart autonomous emergency braking, the safety techs comprise of hill-start assist, reversing camera, cruise control, and nd auto-dimming rear-view mirror,
The engine bay of new ASX is equipped with a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit producing 167 Ps of power and 222 Nm of torque.
The range starts with five-speed manual ES, which comes for $24,990 driveaway, while the automatic transmission-equipped version costs around $26,740. The optional ADAS pack adds an extra $2500 to the automatic ES. The advanced driver-assistance system offers a lane-departure warning, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic headlights and wipers.
The higher trim ASX LS price starts at $30,240, above base trim, it comes with privacy glass, push-button start, and chrome interior door handles. While the top-spec Exceed CVT holds the price tag of $35,740.
The firm has added two new sport-themed variants- MR and GSR which won’t be available before December. In the specs sheet of new trims, appointments like black alloy wheels, black door mirrors, black grille, sports rear spoiler, paddle shift can be seen. But nothing about their pricing has been disclosed yet.
