2020 Ford Ranger details revealed

Ford has published specifications of the updated 2020 Ford Ranger which will toss into dealerships around December. The pricing has not been declared yet, but it’s reasonable to expect there’ll be some minor pricing changes. Entry-level Ranger XL and XLS will now feature the identical 8.0-inch infotainment screen operating Sync3 as the rest of the lineup. Ford is also attaching an additional USB outlet, which is mounted up near the rearview mirror, across the list.

The visible change includes the round light substituted by a square-look light housing. However there’s more to it than just shape, the Bi-LED headlights, according to the carmaker, contribute 17 percent greater light diffusion in the standard beam and 20 percent higher lighting penetration in high-beam. The brand also claims the LED lights present a much whiter light which prevents eye fatigue.

“Feedback from Australian and New Zealand customers has driven upgrades across the Ranger lineup, from heavy-duty suspension in the XL to a remote control powered roller- shutter on Wildtrak, and newBi-LED projector headlights on the XLT, Wildtrak and Ranger Raptor. Customers also told us they want the convenience of a windshield mounted USB to power accessories, so we will now make this available across the Ranger lineup,” said Kay Hart, President, and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to the innovative lights, the Ranger gets new-look 18-inch alloys and cost-optional black alloys. However, it attracted many complaints due to the removal of the manual roller shutter. The brand-new, powered roller shutter can be initiated from inside the car, with the help of a button in the tray. The shutter will bolt in any form and also highlights an ice-break feature. More than this, the fresh shutter is more compressed than the traditional one, which improves load clearance by 20mm.
