Alfa Romeo Giuletta Review 2024
Purva Jain says
With Giulietta, Alfa is carrying forward the heritage styling of its sports cars. However, being a hatchback, Giulietta doesn’t proclaim the same aura as of the SUV and sedan models of Alfa Romeo. But, as an only hatchback of the automaker, Giulietta is also unique and reminiscent of other Alfa Romeo cars. It’s available in two grades Super and Veloce. With base grade prices starting from $40,100 and top trim prices starting from $47,300. Giulietta proves to one of the hatchbacks in the segment that is truly inspired by the race track engineering.

Alfa Romeo Giuletta Interior & Features
As an Italian hatchback, Alfa Romeo Giulietta is crafted with high-quality materials that include leather and Alcantara. The matte black grain dashboard mimics the flowing design that you can see inside other Alfa as well. The cockpit of this hatchback is designed to make it look similar to its family members, including Quadrifoglio lineup.
The seats in the front and rear row are supportive and comfortable as well. However, while sitting in the rear seats, you might feel a lack of legroom and headroom. But that won’t be an issue with passengers with shorter heights. Apart from this, there are plenty of features to keep you at the centre of comfort as you enter inside the new Giulietta. You’ll get dual-zone automatic climate control, driver seat with memory function, heated front seats, and steering wheel-mounted gearshift controls.
The cockpit of Giulietta receives a whole new perspective with the Alpine 7-inch touchscreen display that comes integrated with USB, AUX, and Bluetooth connectivity features. You’ll also get the standard Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay to connect your device on the go.
Giuletta Exterior
At first glance, Giulietta much looks like a vintage sports hatchback with some high upgrades. But, when you get closer, the feisty front fascia of the Giulietta captivates you with its sleek profile that defines its styling. The trilobe in the front looks different on its hatchback body and continues the heritage profile of Alfa cars in a modern way.
While the LED daytime running lights, and signature LED taillights in the rear profile completes the look from both ends of Giulietta. The base grade of the Giulietta comes with the 17-inch luxury designed alloy wheels and the top trim gets the more stylish and eminent 18-inch diamond finish five twin-spoke alloy wheels. Other than this, you’ll get standard windscreen with rain sensor and dusk sensor, rear spoiler, front fog lights, and Bi-Xenon headlamps.
Alfa Romeo Giuletta Ride & Handling
The advanced McPherson suspension supervises the ride quality of Alfa Giulietta. In the front axle, McPherson suspension comes integrated with aluminium pillar and hollow anti-roll bar. While in the rear, you get standard multilink suspension with auxiliary frame and aluminium wishbones fixed on anti-roll bar. The suspension setup in the front and back give you a composed ride quality while driving in urban and highway road conditions. However, while driving on rough roads, the Giulietta responds poorly to the bumps. It eventually degrades the driving experience and comfort as well.
Giuletta Engine & Fuel Consumption
Both the available engines of Alfa Giulietta are designed to deliver maximum power while optimising the fuel efficiency. It came to reality with the 6-speed Twin clutch transmission that ensures high efficiency at every gear change. The Super grade is paired with the 1.4L TB Multi-Air Turbocharged engine which is capable of producing power of 125 kW at 5500 rpm and torque of 250 Nm at 2500 rpm. With this engine, you can attain the highest speed of 218 km/hr, while you can go from 0–100 km/hr in just 7.7 seconds. The other grade, Veloce is paired with more powerful and agile 1750 TB Turbocharged Petrol engine. It’s a 1.7L engine that can deliver much higher power than the base grade. It can produce the highest power of 177 kW at 5750 rpm and torque of 340 Nm at 2000 rpm. In just 6 seconds, Veloce can get from 0–100 km/h, much lesser time than Super. It can also attain a maximum speed of 244 km/hr. Despite the power that both engines can unleash, they both prove to be fuel-efficient. The base engine can deliver a combined fuel efficiency of 4.9 L/100 km, and with 1.7L engine, you’ll get the combined fuel efficiency of 6.8 L/100 km.
Alfa Romeo Giuletta Braking & Safety
The braking configurations of both grades are different. The base grade of Giulietta comes paired with 305 mm disc brakes in the front wheels and 264 mm disc brakes in the rear. While the top trim gets the more efficient 330 mm disc brakes in the front wheels and 278 mm disc brakes in the rear wheels. These brakes work effectively while driving at high speeds or while cornering. To further enhance the braking capacity of the Giulietta, Alfa has fitted it with standard ABS with Brake Assist as standard. Moreover, other driving assistance features include, rear park camera with dynamic guidelines, front and rear park sensors, ESC and Hill Hold. You’ll also get the six standard airbags with both the grades of Giulietta.
Giuletta Verdict
If you are looking for a feature-rich hatchback than Giulietta might not be the best fit for your requirements. However, it gets all the necessary things that buyers look into a hatchback. The exterior design doesn’t look relative in 2020, but for vintage car lovers, Alfa is the only one that gives you heritage styling with the sports-inspired body. Under the hood, both engines prove to be efficient and up to the mark of performance, that you expect from a family hatchback.
