Subaru Forester Hybrid and XV Hybrid sold out until May 2020
Hybrids are doing pretty well in the Australian market and there is another testimony to the same. Subaru’s new hybrid SUV range, which includes the XV and the Forester. The two SUVs are presently running in high demand and the supply is not at par with it. So, if you are planning to buy either of the two, you have to wait as they have been sold out until May 2020.
Presently, Subaru allocates only 150 to 200 units for sale per month, including both the XV and Forester. Though the latter is at higher demand and requires more allocation, the automaker cannot confirm working on the same.
The problem might be caused due to bigger reasons. One of the reasons is that the Japanese automaker is finding it difficult to get the allocation from the home country due to natural disasters and problems with the products.
The Subaru Forester and XV use the same e-boxer powertrain that includes a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. The gas engine can churn out a maximum power of 150 PS at 6,000 RPM, along with a peak torque of 196 Nm at 4,000 RPM. On the other hand, the electric motor can make around 17 PS of power and 66 Nm of torque. The electric motor gets its energy from a Lithium-ion battery pack.
Prices for the Subaru Forester Hybrid starts from $44,866, while the XV Hybrid goes for $40,324.
