Ford rolls out the BaseCamp accessories pack for the Everest
Have a craving for off-road adventures? Well, Ford Australia has come to your rescue as the American automaker is now offering the "BaseCamp" accessories pack for its Everest 4x4 at just $2000, which is one-third of the original price of the equipment that costs $6000. Available for the Ford Everest Trend four-wheel-drive trim, the "BaseCamp" accessories pack brings along a Ford Genuine bonnet protector and snorkel, Ford-licensed LED light bar, blacked-out roof-mounted carry bars, Pioneer roof platform, Sunseeker awning, and a 76 mm nudge bar alongside a Genuine tow bar pack.
While this Genuine tow bar pack enables the Bi-Turbo powered variant for 3.1t braked-trailer towing, the 3.2-litre engine, on the other hand, becomes capable of 3.0t braked-trailer towing. The "BaseCamp" accessories pack is “a ready-to-go adventure package” that can be availed “conveniently from a preferred Ford dealership, building on Everest’s off-road capability using Ford Licensed Accessories, Genuine Ford Accessories and carefully selected components,'' says Ford.
Just like Ford Everest itself, the "BaseCamp" accessories pack also carries a five-year warranty. Also, the service interval is the same 15,000 km and will cost $299/visit for the first four years. In case you want more of sportiness from your Ford Everest, better hold your horses until the end of 2019 as the American automaker will start offering a sporty black-themed brand-new Everest Sport trim soon enough. For currently available 2020 Ford Everest model, the price ranges from $49,490 for the entry-level Ambiente RWD 3.2 model to $72,590 for the range-topping Titanium 4x4 2.0.
The 2020 Ford Everest gets power from either a 3.2-litre TDCi Duratorq or a 2.0-litre TDCi Bi-Turbo engine. Both of the aforementioned engines come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the SUV gets high-end features like rain-sensing wipers, terrain management, EPAS, 225 mm ground clearance, water wading capacity of 800 mm, SYNC®3 infotainment system, active park assist, AEB, lane-keeping system, tyre pressure monitoring system, active cruise control, seven SRS airbags, hill control, locking differential, BLIS®, and much more.
