Fiat reveals its model projects beyond the 500

Fiat has unveiled its layouts for a range centred encompassing the premium-compact 500, which will lie beside the value-focused more extensive models in its line-up proceeding forward.

Olivier François, the CEO of Fiat, stated in an interview "We will be present in the C-segment [Volkswagen Golf class> but not much more. All models will sit within 3.5 metres and 4.5m [long>. This is where Fiat will play." The next generation 500 line-up will include a wagon, hatch, all-electric model, and the 500X crossover — the carmaker's latest plan focus on two key pillars: 500 family transportation and family of models. 

According to the CEO, the Centoventi concept revealed at this year's Geneva motor show are very dedicated to the next-generation Panda. Powered by internal-combustion engines, the standard Panda line-up will be accompanied by a pure-electric trim listed to appear in 2023. The electric Panda will highlight a modular battery system just like the next-generation electric 500, which permits drivers to buy or rent additional driving range as required.

The most comprehensive model in Fiat's range, excluding its van-based variants, is the Tipo. The hatch, sedan and wagon range is manufactured in Turkey as part of a cooperative venture and targets economy-minded consumers in the Golf and Focus class. The CEO of Fiat reportedly desires the Tipo compensated by a new crossover to lie over the next-generation 500X. 

Olivier François even stated that brand would not feature any big or premium cars, and not even sporty vehicles in its future and it appears to determine the future of the 124 Spider. The 124 Spider accords it's interior, platform and production line with the Mazda MX-5 while the carmaker may keep the on-going car around till the time Mazda chooses to manufacture a next-generation model.
