Audi Australia rolls out Audi connect plus
The latest Audi connect plus platform has launched in Australia. The first cars to get equipped with connect plus in Australia will be the new A6, A7, A8, and Q8. “Owners can see real-time traffic information and avoidance options, check petrol station fuel prices, or the availability of spaces at a parking station, as well as advanced assistance and emergency response services when they are needed most. Our team has worked hard to bring this advanced suite of services to Australia for almost five years, after a testing, evaluation and adaptation program for our local market,” said Paul Sansom, Managing Director of Audi Australia.
The first-generation Audi connect system utilises an embedded SIM card that will connect to the Telstra 4G network and ensures a download speed of up to 100MB per second. The subscription cost is covered in the price of the car, so there's no added charge for data for at least the initial three years of ownership. Moreover, Audi has improved the Google Earth-based navigation observed on its system. The owners can use 'connect plus' via the MMI infotainment system and utilise it to find local fuel prices, real-time traffic information, and look for parking spaces.
The system also features an SOS function that will automatically connect emergency services if an airbag is exploded, and inform the geolocation of the vehicle. It will also notify emergency services how many passengers are in the car. The user will also get the notification through myAudi smartphone app if there Audi is stolen or broken into. The owner can also remotely lock or unlock their car and track its location with the help of the app.
