2021 Fiat 500e revealed via leaked images
The 2021 Fiat 500e has been revealed, though not officially. The images of the car have been doing rounds on the internet, giving us the first glimpse of the next-generation model. So the detail that we now know of is that it would be an individual model to be sold alongside the petrol model.
Fiat has not revealed any specifications of the car yet. However, we did get slight cues with the Olivier Francois, the marketing head at Fiat Chrysler revealed to Auto Express (a UK-based auto magazine) that the new model will have the same proportions as the outgoing one. But yes, we can consider this new electric form to be built on a dedicated platform that would be different than the petrol-powered unit.
The 2021 Fiat 500e, as per the leaked images, looks changed to a great extent, despite having shared proportions. It looks wider and has more flares at both ends. The changes in the front end aren’t too deep, though the headlamps look wider than before. The “500e” is badged as “50e” at the front, replacing the native “Fiat” moniker.
The cabin has also been revamped. The dashboard and the central console are much different and pleasing now. There is a digital display even behind the steering wheel to provide various information.
Fiat has not revealed any technical details of the car yet. However, it could have a better driving range than the 160 kilometres of the previous EV from the automaker. Plus, according to reports, Fiat will restrict the production of the 500e to 80,000 units a year, a number driven by the CO2 emission regulation in the US and Europe.
There is still no news whether Fiat will introduce a right-hand-drive version of the EV or not. Only time will tell!
