Check out 2020 Skoda Octavia interior sketches

Once again, the Czech automaker Skoda released the design sketches of its biggest-selling Octavia sedan ahead of its scheduled display on 11th November. In the previous month, the brand flaunted the re-built exterior styling, and this time, unwrapped the hi-tech and plush interior designing of the model.

As suggested by the teaser images, the new Octavia cabin includes:

• A two-spoke steering wheel along with a new dashboard layout
• A fully digital instrument cluster along with a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (slightly bigger than the ongoing 9.2-inch)
• A small rocker switch in the centre console which has replaced the selector lever.
• A climatronic three-zone air conditioning system

Oliver Stefani, Head of Skoda Design, said, “The shape of the dashboard has been inspired by the typical ŠKODA face and offers support for your hand when you are using the free-standing central display. We have also created a brand new design for the steering wheel and, for the first time, our automatic transmission features a shift-by-wire system, which has enabled us to design a central console with a completely new feature. This has influenced a lot of the interior design too.”

Skoda says that the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia offers a more premium appearance, more space, technology, and electrified powertrain options to the buyers as compared to 2019 Octavia.

If we talk about the accessibility of the model for the local people, the next-gen Octavia is expected to come around in the first quarter of 2021. In this regard, Paul Pottinger, communications boss for Skoda’s local division, stated that the production for the Australian market would be starting in late 2020.
