MG  Australia pulled the covers off its all-new HS SUV last year. It is a suburban family-sized crossover that will give its competitors such as Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage, Skoda Karoq and Nissan Qashqai a run for their money.

The car has been developed in the Midlands (Longbridge) but because it’s been built in China hence will give a razor cut competition and with it being better equipped, in terms of both infotainment and electronic safety equipment give you everything you could want.

According to Chinese measurements, the HS’s combined-cycle fuel consumption figure is 6.6 litres per 100 km, meaning a theoretical range of 833 km from its 55-litre tank.

The British crossover SUV is offered in two variants with prices starting for the MG HS Vibe trim at $30,990, followed by the MG HS Excite model with prices starting at $33,990. MG HS specs sheet includes only one engine option, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol paired with 7-speed automatic transmission which is capable of generating 161 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.

The 2020 MG HS SUV comes equipped with a 10.1- inch infotainment color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which means you can stay connected to the unit be whatever your mobile device. It also comes with a USB mobile charging functions and a 6 speaker surround sound system.

The all-new MG HS gets generous incorporations of aluminum components, which include the redesigned 18- inch alloy wheels. The 2020 MG HS crossover SUV was designed to look both sporty and utilitarian featuring aesthetics that were designed to fit right in European and British countryside. It is the perfect offer for those who want the piece of the old country and flaunts a design that exudes European chic with some of the latest sporty and tech updates. A ginormous MG logo that is much larger than any other found across the British carmaker’s portfolio now sits right in the middle of the front grille. The grille in question is the latest version of the brand's stellar field grille.

At the rear, we find twin tailpipes and a bumper that is made out of aluminum and has been lowered to keep in tune with the crossover’s sporty and sophisticated design language. The Australian variants also get a sunroof which further opens up the cabin exuding a spacious and comfortable feel. Other design highlights include sequential rear indicators and at the front we find LED day time running lights.
