2018-19 Mercedes-Benz A-Class recalled

Mercedes-Benz recently issued a recall notice for the 2018-19 Mercedes-Benz A-Class due to concerns regarding the protective plate under the spare wheel of the vehicle. The company officials explained the defect as the 'protective tinplate' under the spare wheel recess could crack on its outer edges.

Further, it should be noted that if the tinplate got several cracks in the same area, then it may detach from the vehicle. It leads to risks of accident and can harm other people on the road.

A VIN list of a total 21vehicles for the model year 2018-19 is provided by the automaker which may get affected by the aforementioned defect.

The vehicle owners of the affected cars can contact nearby local Mercedes-Benz dealers to organize a free of charge replacement of the spare wheel plate.

Mercedes Benz A-Class engine is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 135 PS of power and 200 Nm torque, sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

A few days back, Mercedes-Benz also recalled 2019 Sprinter van due to concerns regarding the proper functionality of the tail-lights. The firm referred it as a software fault, means the tail-lights may malfunction in certain vehicles if the rotary light switch is shifted to a new position in 'less than 0.5 seconds. A total of 875 vehicles are included in this recall list.
