2015-16 Mercedes-AMG GT S recalled, concern transmission failure

Mercedes recently issued a recall notice for the 2015-16 model-year GT S, which concerns the potential transmission failure of the supercar. According to the firm, "The adhesive connection of the driveshaft to the engine/transmission flange may not meet specifications. And this may lead to the development of unusual noise, transmission malfunctions or, in certain cases, to loss of connection between the engine and transmission.”

A VIN list of total 92 GT-S vehicles (available for sale between 3 August 2015 through 30 September 2016) is provided by the automaker, which may get affected by the aforementioned defect.

For the expected hazards, the brand stated that the issue can lead to an accident and may harm the vehicle’s occupants and other persons on the road.

Mercedes Benz Australia requests the vehicle owners to contact their nearest dealer and schedule an appointment for inspection and repair of their vehicle free of cost. For more information, the original notice provided by the company can also be checked.

If we talk about the Mercedes AMG GT S engine specs, the supercar is powered by a 4.0-litre Biturbo V8, which is capable of producing 503 PS of power and 649 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

A few days back, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2018-19 Mercedes-Benz A-Class due to concerns regarding the protective plate under the spare wheel of the vehicle. The firm referred the defect as the 'protective tinplate' under the spare wheel recess could crack on its outer edges. The recall list included a total of 21 vehicles.

Before this, Mercedes-Benz also recalled 2019 Sprinter van due to concerns regarding the proper functionality of the tail-lights, which included recall of 875 vehicles.
