2011-18 Mercedes-Benz G-Class recalled, concern ABS hydraulic unit

Mercedes-Benz recently issued a recall notice for the 2011-18 Mercedes-Benz G-Class due to concerns regarding the Anti-lock Braking System hydraulic unit.

The company officials explained the defect as the “driving the vehicle on ridged roads may lead to the cracking of the brake lines in the ABS hydraulic unit and further result in leaking of brake fluid and delays the stopping distance of the vehicle”.

And if ABS gets affected, the stopping distance of the vehicle increases and will consequently increase the risk of accidents and can harm the driver as well as other people on the road.

A VIN list of a total 451 vehicles for the model years 2011-18 is provided by the automaker which may get affected by the aforementioned defect.

The vehicle owners of the affected cars can contact nearby Mercedes-Benz dealers to organize a free repair of the defect. Further, the original notice provided by the company can also be checked.

Mercedes Benz G-Class engine bay gets a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine that produces 183 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The exterior highlights feature boxy and squared-off design, upright stance, small windows, and tail-mounted spare wheel.

Inside the cabin, the retro design theme continues which includes a low set dashboard for excellent outside visibility. Mercedes has provided plenty of creature comfort to carry the occupants in absolute luxury.

A few days back, Mercedes-Benz also recalled 2018-19 Mercedes-Benz A-Class due to concerns regarding the protective plate under the spare wheel of the vehicle. The firm referred the defect as the 'protective tinplate' under the spare wheel recess could crack on its outer edges. The recall list included a total of 21 vehicles.

Before this, Mercedes-Benz also recalled 2019 Sprinter van due to concerns regarding the proper functionality of the tail-lights, which included recall of 875 vehicles.
