Volkswagen Amarok V6 manual ready to roll out in December this year

With a vision to expand its Core V6 Amarok range in Australia, Volkswagen has announced the two new dual-cab utes, first in the list is Core Amarok V6 with a 6-speed manual transmission. The huge consumer demand also led the way of bringing out this model as according to VW officials. Sales figures reveal that V6 variants score up more than 80 percent of Amarok sales in the nation.

On the power front, the Core manual will come with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel producing 165kW power and 500Nm peak torque through a six-speed manual transmission. The braked towing capacity has reduced to 3000kg as compared to 3500kg in automatic. The added range will be available for the meantime in the market i.e. Australia will be the only country having the model for now.

On the technology front, the Volkswagen Amarok Core manual will have a 6.4-inch touchscreen display and Voice Control with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink interface connectivity and will also have a rear-view camera. On the interior part, it will comprise cloth seats, manually adjustable seats and uncarpeted rubber floor coverings for off-roading. Other standard features include four-wheel disc brakes and 17-inch alloy wheels. On the price front, nothing is clearly disclosed yet but the predictions hover around $40,000.

The other higher end-variant adding in the board as a permanent fixture is the Highline V6 Black with the same engine capacity as regular Highline i.e. 3.0 liter turbo-diesel, producing 190 kW power and 580 peak torque and all-black finishings inside and out, composing gloss black rear bumper and bars, 20-inch black alloy wheels, black badging tailgate, black exterior mirrors and so on.

The V6 Canyon 550TDI will also be out for sale from next month but in limited numbers, just 350, gets 17-inch alloy wheels, special seat trim, dark-tinted taillights, tailgate decals, bi-xenon headlights, and a black rear bumper. The estimated affordable price range of Highline V6 is estimated at around $64,990 (showroom price) and for V6 Canyon is $57,990(showroom price).
