Tesla adds AWD Long Range trim to Model 3 lineup in Australia
It is always exciting when Tesla comes up with something new for its existing nameplates. This time it is for Australia as the company has officially confirmed the introduction of AWD Long Range variant to the Model 3 lineup.
The new trim is already available overseas and the EV loving folks in Australia can now have it for a base price of $85,000 (excluding on-road costs and luxury car tax). This unit takes the middle slot in the Model 3 range, residing above the Standard Range Plus and below the Performance. Moreover, the Performace Upgrade Pack has received a price hike of $6,200 and now has the option to get a white colour scheme for the interior.
The AWD Long Range Model 3 shares standard equipment with the top-end Performance trim. This includes Tesla’s full ‘Premium Interior’ package, Autopilot feature, and 18-inch aero wheels. To be specific, the Premium Interior pack is composed of a 14-speaker sound system, 12-way electrically-adjustable front seats, heated front, and rear seats and a massive 15-inch infotainment touchscreen display. The standard feature set also comprises of LED foglamps, tinted glass roof, and heated side mirrors.
What’s not standard is the flagship ‘Full Self Driving Capability’ package ($8,500) along with an array of option to get premium paints. The latter contains Solid Black for $1,050, Midnight Silver Metallic against a sum of $1,400, Deep Blue Metallic with a price tag of $1,400 and Red Multi-Coat that can be owned for $2,800.
The Long Range model is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack paired with two electric motors. The combination is capable of delivering a range of 620 km on the NEDC cycle and allows the EV to sprint from nil to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.
