Peugeot Australia announces pricing and specifications of special-edition 308 GT

Peugeot Australia has confirmed the pricing and specifications of the special-edition 308 GT warm hatch, which is limited to only 140 units for the country. It is the first time that the facelifted guise comes with a GT variant. 

As for the powertrain, the car is equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit, which can make a maximum power of 221 hp coming at 5,500 rpm and the peak torque is at 285 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The engine is coupled with a new eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission having a torque converter.

However, the local division of the brand has not spoken much about the performance. There is some information of the UK spec version, which can complete the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 7.4 seconds. On the combined-cycle, the car can return a mileage of 16.7 kmpl.

As for the standard features, there are autonomous emergency braking, 18-inch 'Diamond' alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, GT badging, dual chrome exhaust outlets, performance-tuned suspension, rear privacy glass, contrasting red stitching, full-LED headlights, black mirror caps, alloy pedals, keyless entry with push-button start, front seats with electric lumbar support and massage function.

As for the pricing, the special-edition 308 GT comes with a price tag of $39,990, excluding on-road costs. With that pricing, the car owner will have benefits like unlimited mileage warranty along with the five-year roadside assistance package.

The car will be available in six colour options, including Hurricane Grey (solid), Ultimate Red, Magnetic Blue, Pearl White, Platinum Grey, and Nera Black. While if one wants the Metallic colours (Magnetic Blue, Nera Black, and Artense Grey), then he/she has to pay $590. On the other hand, the premium colours (Pearl White and Ultimate Red) cost $1050.
