MY2019 Ram 1500 and 2500 pick-ups issued a recall

A plethora of MY2019 Ram 1500 and 2500 pick-ups have been released a recall notice form ASV (American Special Vehicles) due to the concern over brake failure. The master cylinder pushrod clip is secured incorrectly, and that will result in brake failure.

According to the ACCC recall report, “The master cylinder pushrod which is connected to the brake pedal pin may dislodge and become difficult to operate or fail, resulting in the brake pedal becoming inoperable.” Also, the report has stated, “This may pose an accident risk, potentially seriously injuring vehicle occupants or other road users.”

In this recall, a total of 78 vehicles are affected. The automaker has said that the affected truck will be contacted via mail. It also advises them to reach the Ram dealer so that the dealer can inspect the vehicle and then repair it. The entire process of inspection and repair will be free of cost.

Speaking on the other recall news, in the ongoing Takata airbag campaign, total 19 Dodge Ram 1500 and 2500 pick-ups have been found guilty. Moreover, one unit of Ram 4500, one unit for Ram 5500 and four units of Ram 3500 also got the same notice.

In the Takata airbag campaign, it is reported that the affected vehicles airbag inflator propellant is continuously degrading over time. It happens due to the humidity and high temperatures. It may trigger a defective airbag, and this will explode the metal inflator housing, which can cause severe injury to the occupant due to the metal fragments.

As per the manufacturer, between 2004 and 2009 the vehicles were built and the Queensland’s Maracoonda Automotive sold these vehicles from July 15, 2004, to July 15, 2010.
