Kia Seltos interior revealed prior to Australian launch

Kia, the second-largest automobile manufacturer of Korea, has revealed the interior of 2020 Seltos model on its Korean website. The revelation comes just before the scheduled launch of the nameplate in Australia in October. The compact SUV sports a look that is almost similar to the Cerato, which is another car manufactured by the same company.

Kia Seltos comes with the option to choose between two petrol powertrains. At first, there is a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol mill that delivers a maximum power of 148 hp and is paired to a CVT that transfers power to the front-wheel-drive system. Whereas, the other unit is available with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol mill delivering a maximum power output of 174 hp mated to a seven-speed DCT with an all-wheel-drive layout. The car comes with a Drive Mode Select System, allowing the drivers to adapt the vehicle to a driving style of their preference.

All the models have AEB along with a lane-keep assist as a standard feature. Furthermore, lower-grade models have the option to choose a wider suite of driver assists, whereas the feature comes as standard in top models. Kia has opted for a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is loaded with a wide variety of features such as customizing the screen so that three apps can be displayed simultaneously. Along with that, an advanced split-screen functionality lets you control several functions at the same time.

In terms of safety, the company has put in a lot of advanced features in 2020 Seltos. A blend of aluminium and steel makes up the body of the car. It keeps the body weight low while maximising torsional rigidity. The bodyshell helps in reducing road vibrations. This, in turn, ensures maximum safety in case there is an accident. Six airbags provide an extra layer of protection along with a suite of electronic vehicle safety systems that includes Vehicle Stability Management System from Kia as standard. Other features include a Traction Control system, an Anti-lock Braking system, Hill-start Assist Control, and a Brake-force Assist system.
